The first Island Business Network meeting of April 2017 was a well-attended event on a sunny morning at the usual location, River Centre in Newport. Some interesting and informative discussions were held relating to email hacking cases, and how they can be avoided. A future event was is planned for a specialist speaker on Internet Security .. more to follow. Justin Steele of Datatel Networks gave a top speed presentation on his telecommunications offering, plus some of the ‘Internet of Things’ monitoring devices and solutions he is starting to deliver to locations on and off the Isle of Wight. These included GPS and air quality monitoring solutions built into the ‘Boris Bikes’, and an innovative trial of drain monitoring systems.
