The Island Business Network welcomed its newest member, Peter Monk from Hilbans (Vectis) Ltd. Hillbans was formed to provide specialist damp proofing and timber treatment services and later expanded to offer wall tie replacement. In that time many changes have taken place, both in the industry and the market place. Hilbans have always striven to keep up with those changes and maintain our status as the leading company in our field Peter Monk represents Hilbans at the Island Business Network and said; I wanted to rejoin IBN as I knew from past experience that it makes good business sense. I used to have my own business in a similar sector in construction as Hillbans. I wanted to rejoin IBN because, not only is there a great helpful team of other businesses at IBN, the amount of business received had previously been significantly more than the monthly outlay. I wound up my own business due to health issues and therefore left IBN. I entered into employment with Hillbans soon after and made it clear that I always intended to rejoin. Having been a member again for less than a week, I have already received a significant , quality referral, which is likely to cover a few years membership fee. I have done the maths and it works! Holly Cade is a member of the Island Business Network, and is a twenty-five year old Wedding and Portrait Photographer based on the Isle of Wight. She prides herself on having a laid-back and friendly approach to photographing people, whilst being professional and thorough. "I like to capture people as they are and an event as it happened; nothing is fake or too staged, and no moments are forced. " As part of her job she often gets asked about how to pose or what to do on a photo shoot. In her recent blog, she gives her five tips that can help if you're really not sure how best to approach this sort of thing or if you're camera shy. Holly was recommended to us, and from the start it was clear that we would enjoy working with her. She has a lovely friendly and supportive approach, and a great talent with which she captured the essence of our relationship and wedding beautifully. Her attention to detail was key, but carried out in a delicate and unassuming way. She is a lovely lady to have with you on such a potentially stressful day. Thank you Holly! - - Sarah & Nick The first Island Business Network meeting of April 2017 was a well-attended event on a sunny morning at the usual location, River Centre in Newport.
